Hello Everyone, If you are reading this blog you may be looking on some insight on how to improve yourself, or you may be trying to help someone else improve. Often times people really just become the pattern or habits that they create. So in order for change to occur new habits must be implemented. Let’s tackle this subject and get you moving towards your improved self.

Be Honest

When looking to make improvements on yourself one of the most important things you can do is be honest. You have to be honest with yourself, both your strengths and your weaknesses. Only then can you really know where to go from there.

It can be difficult to open up to your weaknesses when you are around others, and if that is the case I will say no one has to know that you have them. Just do not lie to yourself and pretend they are not there. Honestly when you do that weaknesses only grow stronger that way.

When you take the moment to accept that they are there you have allowed yourself to take responsibility and have empowered yourself to make the necessary changes if they are needed.

Open Up To Greatness

Many times we hold onto what society defines us as. The list can be quite long and can either be a good list or a bad list. An example of negatives could be you are defined as a smoker, a lazy person, or an alcoholic. Whereas examples of a positive person is honest, kind, and caring.

These definitions that society can hold us to can lock us into a very dangerous trap though. If society labels you as lessor than, how are you ever going to succeed with a mindset like that.

You must allow yourself to open up to that fact that you are indeed capable of doing great things. No matter what society has labeled you as. Believe that you can achieve what you set your mind to. Take the time to realize that there is greatness in you. Just doing that will give you a new perspective on your goals and make them easier to obtain.

Have Empathy

Empathy is a very powerful skill set to have, and it works both ways. When you have empathy for others you will have empathy for yourself. People will most likely have empathy for you as well.

Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to do everything perfect and when we make mistakes we end up beating ourselves up for it. A person can get so frustrated that they may even take it out on others and come off as a jerk.

Take the time to empathize with yourself and empathize with others. Be the best you that you can be in the moment. A person trying to do the right things in the moment has a better chance than someone trying to do everything perfectly all the time in fear of their next mistake.

Love yourself and others unconditionally. It is important to call yourself on your mistakes, but realize your mistakes do not define you as a person. A bad mistake does not equal a bad person. Love yourself and move on, focus on your now and be the best you can be within the only thing that you can control. The present moment that you are in.

Time and Moments

When it all comes down to it we are the moments that we create. Some moments we may do all the right things, and other moments we may fail.

The truth is the longer you practice certain habits the likelihood of a good moment increases. The problem is people look so far ahead sometimes they scare themselves into the belief it will take too long.

I will tell you this. The human body is truly one of the most amazing things I have ever worked with. Whenever I get a person out of the mindset of time that’s when they really get to work on the goals they have set out for.

Think about how much you can accomplish in a year. Really taking the moment to take serious what you want to get in life. I guarantee you be several steps closer to accomplishing your goal.

Often times I hear how long a year is, but really take the moment to put it into perspective. How old are you right now? I am guessing you are older than 16. How fast do your years pass you by? I swear they get faster every year I am on this earth.

Once you take the time to realize just how fast a year can go by. I tell people to hyper focus to the day. Realizing a year goes by fast just take it day by day. The chances of getting to your goal with dramatically increase because you are in the mindset of just doing what you need to in the moment.

Set Clear Goals

Making improvements on yourself is going to come down to setting clear goals for yourself. What do you want to improve, and what steps are you going to take to improve it.

Write down what you are looking to do, how you are going to do it, and a time frame you would like to do it in. This will put you into a position to take the necessary actions to put everything together and make your desires and goals a reality.

Accountability

Having set goals is one thing, but accountability is another. Be honest with yourself and know that if you cannot hold yourself accountable find someone who can.

Let them see the goals you are looking to obtain and when you are looking to obtain them. Having someone hold you accountable to your success will speed the process tremendously. The good thing is repeating this enough times you may not need others to hold you accountable anymore once you get use to doing it.

Just like any habit, once you implement the habits of the successful it will become easier to do successful things consistently.

Good Luck

Believe in yourself and take the steps you need to take to improve. Life moves fast so take these steps seriously and improve in the areas in your life you are looking to improve in. Good luck to you in your journey.
