Every have a moment when it feels like the walls are closing in on you. You want a second to just get your life back on track, but you are just not getting it? Feeling stuck can be a very uncomfortable feeling, especially when you try to fight to get out and it feels like you are being pulled deeper. Almost like quicksand.
A word of advice. Take a second to breathe. Let your mind know that you are going to get through this. I am sure you have gotten through challenges before, and this is nothing more than that a challenge to overcome. Remind yourself of the things that you have done, and the other obstacles you have gotten through. The truth is you probably learned a thing or two from the last obstacle that tried to stop you. Sometimes remember past victories can help us during the new challenges we are presented with.
I hope that you are feeling a little better as you read this. Realize the power that you truly posses. We really do become the things that we tell ourselves. We also tend to feel what are bodies tell us as well. Try it, take a second to think how a confident person would stand. Visualize yourself doing it, and then take a moment to do it. What does it feel like to you?
The mind is an incredibly powerful tool. It becomes the things you say about yourself. During tough times what voices do you say to yourself? Hopefully you say good affirmations about yourself. One’s like “Yes I can get through this”, “I love myself”, “I am capable”, “I can learn this”. Those are just a few affirmations to live by.
Now if you say negative things about yourself, that is ok. Why, because that is the beauty of practice. You can practice your way out of negative self-talk. It may feel strange at first, but anything that is new does. Don’t worry, it is all part of the process.
I have always been a big fan of the Phoenix. A mythical bird that can never truly die. Every time it falls it rises up through the ashes stronger than it was before. I often think about moments like that when life tries to kick me down. I say this is just a moment that I can overcome and get stronger from. See it as a true opportunity and a blessing, knowing that I will just be a better version of myself after the tough time is over.

This is something take a moment to remember. Every time you are presented with a tough time in life. It will come and it will go, but you can be better because of it. Stronger and tailored from the process. Some people believe that others are born tough, but the truth is tough is something that is learned from dealing with tough times.
This is why I think it is important to challenge yourself in life. As a coach I want people to build a solid base that prepares them for the difficult times of life. It really isn’t a question of if but when. Life is going to through something at you, and if you are prepared and ready it will be nothing more than a challenge you will overcome.
So I always remind people to prepare themselves to do great things in life. Now if you are not prepared and life is beating you down, I will say this. You too can get through the struggle. Will it be more difficult for someone who is not ready for it. Yes it will. I would be lying if I said anything differently, but that does not mean you cannot overcome the challenge in your way. The human spirit is incredibly strong, and has been known to do its best work during the most difficult of times.
Always take the time to remind yourself of what you posses, and do not let it go to waste. Live a life that was truly worth living, and make it a great one!
