Often times people do not go all in on their own success. I will say I do not think this comes from a lack of trying, but more from not implementing the correct strategies to make their success a reality. I am going to give you the 5 steps that will put you in a place that will not only help you get to your success, but will make you happy in the process.
Think Big
What is it that you want out of life now, and are you holding yourself back from getting it? Sometimes you can be so sure of yourself and for a moment you think maybe I can have this. There might even been times you think that you are thinking outside of a box just to realize you are thinking in a box that is just a little bigger than everyone else.
Think big means to think insanely big. Go all out. Take the time to think as big as you possibly can, and go all out on it. Deep down inside you know you were not put here to just settle.
As a society we are constantly improving, and constantly reinventing, because there is always someone of some group who dared to say that we can do more. It’s funny because usually the big thinkers can be dubbed as crazy until it is done.
I remember at one time everyone thought that the 4-minute mile was an impossible feat. People didn’t even attempt to run a mile in that time, because of the thought of it not being obtainable. The first man to run it was a guy named Roger Bannister. After he ran it all of a sudden everyone believed it could be done, so others began to follow in his footsteps and the 4-minute mile became something that others could reach. Even high school kids are now running a mile in 4 minutes or less.
Everything starts with a thought. A belief that it can happen. So think big. Do not settle for small things in your life. You deserve more than that.
Have A Plan
It is very important to have a plan for what you are doing. Your plan is your road map. It shows you how to get where you need to go in the most efficient way. You will also have to have short term plans and a long term plan. The short term plans really just makes sure you are following the steps necessary to get to the long term plan.
It is also important to know who you are making your plan with. You want to make it with someone who has already accomplished something similar to what you are looking to do. For example if you wanted to be a professional race car driver you would as a coach or driver who has done it, not someone who thinks they can do it because they drag race with their friends sometime. It sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many people do it without realizing it.
It is also important to remember plans do not have to be set in stone. Sometimes people are afraid of plans because they feel like a failure if they do not follow it perfectly. A plan is just a guide. It holds you accountable, and if you are not following it you have options. Maybe you need to adjust your plan, or you might have to ask yourself the tough questions as to why you are not following your plan.
Put your plan together and learn as you go. As everyone knows a plan is nothing without action. Which is what is going to lead into the next step.
Intense Action
This is one that I see people mess up on a lot. Taking intense action does not mean taking big actions. I will give an example for clarity. Let’s look at New Years Resolutions. Most people say I am going to lose 50 lbs by the end of the year. So they go to the gym and end up trying to take 50 lbs off that day. They are sore as hell, and can’t move. This is what I would call taking big actions. Doing too much too soon and paying the price.
The opposite can also happen. They might say I have a whole year to do this. So they do it half ass and end up with no results at all. Still stuck in the same place they were originally at.
Let’s take that same person looking to lose 50 lbs in a year. Instead of trying to lose it all at once, or losing nothing because of lazy action, they take a different approach. They instead focus on losing 1 lbs a week. Knowing they need to lose 1 lbs they go all in on losing it as well. Following the correct protocol. Just thinking about it that way makes it feel more obtainable, and helps you to take the intense action necessary to make it a reality.
I don’t know if you have ever heard this saying, but it goes “to eat an elephant you have to take one bite at a time”. So the big thoughts don’t let them go. Hold on to them. Just realize that to get to those big thoughts is going to take small intense actions.
Have Faith
You have to know that everything you are putting together is going to work. Everything you are doing is going to pay off. Having proper faith really helps with a person’s sanity.
Think of it this way, lets say you have a turkey that takes 4 hours to cook. You have prepared it did all the steps needed and you put it in the oven. You have faith that the turkey will cook in 4 hours, because that is what the directions said would happen, but imagine if you were unsure. You would constantly be peeking in the oven to check. It would be agonizing to the point you might not even let the turkey finish.
That’s what faith does, it keeps you in a place to focus on what you need to focus on. Not on the fear of it might not work.
Take Responsibility
This one is huge! Take responsibility of your life. Know that you have control over your life, and take the correct steps to get to the life that you want. Is life fair? Not always, but that is ok, because you can figure out the steps that need to be taken to get you to the life that you feel you deserve.
If things are not working readjust and figure out a way to make them work. There is greatness in you! Be aware of that, and realize you how the power to create your reality!
